Tokyo Comes to Skaneateles

This fall, two people from the Momentum Japan office in Tokyo have come for a two-month stay at ChaseDesign to learn more about Shopper Based Design and how we work. Yuka Nakai (above) and Yumiko Shimada (below) are working on projects, sitting in on design reviews, and developing an understanding of our approach. They are also helping us understand what they do and how they work with clients in Japan.

As a Senior Account Executive at Momentum Japan, Yuka Nakai manages assignments for an international soft drink company. She has handled more than 50 package design projects and also has extensive experience in the Health & Beauty and Luxury categories. A graduate of Tokyo’s Keio University, she loves movies and international travel, and finds our way of doing business “totally different.”

Yumiko Shimada, an Art Director, develops in-store materials for soft drink, juice and coffee clients. A graduate of the Parsons School of Design in New York City, Yumiko finds everything at ChaseDesign interesting. Returning to Japan in November, she will miss winter in Skaneateles, but not necessarily snow. Her hometown of Toyama averages more than 12 feet of snowfall during its four months of winter.

We are delighted to have Yuka and Yumiko with us.
