On Saturday, September 10th, Jill Wilson, ChaseDesign’s Cybrarian (who keeps our digital assets neat and tidy), cycled 100 miles through the countryside around Cayuga Lake. The occasion was the AIDS Ride for Life, a fundraiser for Southern Tier AIDS programs which annually brings together hundreds of riders, volunteers and sponsors. In its 15-year history, the Ride has raised more than $3.5 million for HIV/AIDS prevention programs and services.
It was Jill’s third year riding the full 100-mile loop, in the company of a team of former Cornell University library colleagues. The ride began and ended in Ithaca, N.Y., with a victory parade and celebratory dinner in that city’s Stewart Park.
Jill notes, “It was a 90-degree day and the headwind out of the south was difficult to push through – but, I persevered!” And she raised $320 for the cause.
